In India, IMI Aligarh has been providing rations (food and nutrition relief) for those in need throughout this pandemic with thousands of food kits distributed overall. To ensure all in need are receiving nutritional assistance, IMI Aligarh's teams are also going door to door to daily wage earner's homes.
Similarly in Hyderabad, Lucknow and Banaras, IMI provided rations throughout Ramadan to those in need. This Muharram, they have appealed for donations to run Hussaini Langars throughout the first ashra'a. IMI Aligarh distributed thousands of fresh food packets for each of the 10 days of Muharram.
On 9th Muharram, 700 food packets were delivered to those most in need in the name of the 72 martyrs of Karbala. View amazing footage of the food distribution in the video sent to us by IMI Aligarh below, as well as a short interview in Urdu on a local news channel by IMI Aligarh Coordinator Dr Wasi Jafri.
