The Imamia Medics International Academic Council ensures the highest level of excellence in academic and health education for all IMI members.
The Council:
Since our formation in the early 90’s, Imamia Medics International (IMI) has provided professional development services as a core of our function globally. Opportunities for new and emerging professionals include mentorship, career guidance events, rotation placement support and a platform to network with peers and senior colleagues. Likewise, for established professionals, IMI continues to serve as a global network and hosts events with Continuing Medical Education accreditation to enhance physician’s understanding of current medical developments.
IMI’s capacity building work globally has expanded to include trainings for midwives, nurses, and health workers broadly, as identified by local needs. For instance, in August 2016, IMI delegations ranged from an assessment team for maternal health care in Kibaha, Tanzania, to the 4th conference as part of IMI’s Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation course in Iraq. The delegations included leading health workers from IMI’s roster of leading physicians and trainers from Europe and the US.
Bringing together the many facets of IMI’s historical work towards health and academic excellence, the IMI Academic Council maintains a rich roster of experts including IMI’s diverse global faculty previously selected for IMI’s international activities including:
