IMAMIA SUPER 14 COACHING AND GUIDANCE PROGRAM:

Northern India has a large Shia population but a very small percentage of Shia students enter professional courses. Only 2-3% of Shia students enter professional courses in Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) and Jamia Millia Islamia University (JMI). Recognizing this issue, IMI has taken the first steps to strengthen the professional educational presence and increase the number of Shia students who enter professional courses.

In 2019, IMI started Imamia Super 14, a coaching and guidance program held every year for bright Shia students who cannot afford to study in reputed universities like AMU and JMI.Through this program, IMI conducts a talent search for 14 deserving students across three states (UP, Bihar, and Kashmir) of India and provides coaching for the entrance exams to get into AMU and JMI for their 11th grade.Students who complete their 11th and 12th grade from AMU and JMI are considered ‘Internal Students’ by the University. As 50% of the seats are reserved for internal students, IMI sees this as an opportunity to help students get professional degrees from these reputed institutions.

KEY OBJECTIVES:

Increase the number of students who enroll in professional courses at Aligarh Muslim University by
Coaching for the entrance exam for 11th grade (the entry point into the university)
Coaching for Medical, Engineering & Law courses
Providing temporary accommodation during the times of coaching/preparation/exams, etc.
Increase awareness amongst the community members about professional courses available at AMU, JMI and other universities.
Have a studio with robust IT infrastructure to run online coaching classes for better outreach even in the remote areas of the country.
Partnership with other community organizations to run courses in entrepreneurship.
