The Al Zahra Medical Complex (named after Shehzadi Fatima-uz-Zahra), is a project run by IMI Pakistan in collaboration with Aziz Imdad Memorial Trust. It is a 30,000 sqft covered area, situated in Syed Kasran, Chakwal Road, District Rawalpindi, Punjab. The medical complex's initiative was to serve the underserved people of rural Punjab.
IMI and Aziz Imdad Memorial Trust inaugurated the Al- Zahra Multi-speciality Clinic in Syed Kisran, Chakwal ,Pakistan on February 7, 2021. The event was attended in person by IMI and Aziz Imdad Representatives, Deputy District Health Officer Dr. Ammar Sheikh and the clinic's future beneficiaries. Virtually, IMI's International and National Faculties and representatives of the Kazmi families were in attendance in this hybrid event. Col. Dr. Javaid Naqvi (IMI Islamabad), Col. Tabassum Kazmi and Mr. Naeem Kazmi (Representating Aziz Imdad Imdad Memorial Trust), and Dr. Huma Naqvi, Global Chair of IMI Women's Wing all gave addresses. The ceremony concluded with the ribbon cutting by DDHO Dr. Ammar Sheikh and an elderly patient in a wheelchair from the village, Mr. Dastar Hussain Shah.
During the construction phase of this significant project, telemedicine services were made available to the underserved communities in Chakwal. These essential services were introduced and officially launched at a special hybrid event.
Construction of the Al Zahra Medical Clinic started in January 2021. A temporary hall was set up at the site to facilitate the launch of Clinic and Telemedicine services.
On the tails of IMI’s Silver Jubilee Conference in Pakistan, on December 30, 2019, the inaugural unveiling of the Al Zahra Medical Complex by IMI and Aziz Imdad Memorial Trust took place in Syed Kasran, just outside Chakwal, Punjab. At the inauguration, the Hon. Dr. Yasmin Rashid, Former Provincial Minister Of Health of Punjab, spoke eloquently about the health needs of the community and offered her office's support for this much needed project. As a show of their commitment to service and this project, IMI delegates also held a free health camp on site that very afternoon.

During the Year 2024, the clinic provided affordable healthcare services to a total of 4,273 patients, with a minimal consultation fee of Rs 50 per patient. IMI Pakistan’s dedicated team led by Dr. Awais and Dr. Sameem, worked tirelessly to provide quality medical care to the patients. In addition to consultation services, free medicines were provided to the patients and RBS testing facilities were also offered.
IMI takes pride in its accomplishments and is dedicated to continually improving its services to better serve the community. The aim is to provide accessible, high-quality healthcare to those in need, and IMI wishes for another successful year ahead. Over the past year, around PKR 1.8 Million has been invested for the expansion of the clinic and to enhance its services.
On June 08, 2024, the Get Well Clinic at Sayed Kasran Chakwal Road was upgraded and moved from a small two-room setup to a purpose-built health facility (Phase I). Phase I features separate rooms for male and female doctors, along with a designated area for short-stay patients and sufficient waiting space for visitors and security staff. There is also a dedicated pharmacy room that includes shelves and storage that comply with Pharmacy standards. Additionally, there is a separate room for administrative tasks. With the blessing of Almighty Allah & The Fourteen Infallible and generous support from our donor, it will be converted into a Mother & Child Healthcare Centre.
The facility was inaugurated by Prof. Maj. Gen. Syed Muhammad Shahab Naqvi (Retd), Senior most member of IMI Islamabad Chapter Dr. Syed Ali Raza Kazmi, Member IMI Pakistan Board of Director Dr. Javaid Naqvi, ExCoordinator IMI Pakistan Dr. Mulazim Hussain Bukhari and Ex-Coordinator and present CEO IMI Pakistan Dr. Dilbar Saeed.
On June 11, 2024, IMI Pakistan’s Al Zahra Medical Complex, in collaboration with Munawwar Memorial Hospital in Chakwal, held a free Eye Camp. During this event, patients received complimentary eye check-ups, along with free medications and eyeglasses. Those who required surgery were identified and underwent operations at Munawwar Memorial Hospital at no cost. Most of these cases involved cataracts, and follow-up visits were arranged for post-operative care.
The future phases shall include a mid-sized hospital with an Ophthalmology Center, dedicated to Mr. Zamir Kazmi, and an Urgent Care Center named "Barkat Urgent Care" in honor of past IMI Global President, late Dr. Barkat Jaferi, surgery center, dental, laboratory and radiology services as well as a pharmacy. Former IMI Global President & Community Stalwart, Dr. Jaferi was a selfless soul, a role model, mentor, and an excellent physician whose tremendous services for the New Jersey community and the Global Medical Community shall be remembered for long through this Urgent Care Center.
