The IMI Get Well Clinic Hyderabad (India) completed almost two decades of service in the heart of Hyderabad, Dar-ul-Shifa since its inception on the 26th of January 2003 . It has provided its services to over 650,000 patients in the past 18 years. The Get Well Clinic was initiated with the aim to provide state-of-the-art medical facilities with world-renowned and highly qualified doctors, free health camps, and simultaneously offer health education.
GWC has become the most dependable source of medical help, be it a minor ailment or an emergency in Hyderabad. It is a multi-specialty clinic that includes dental care, ophthalmology physiotherapy, orthopedics, cardiology, pediatrics, and ENT with a wide variety of equipment avilable such as ultrasound, ECG, X-Ray, lab services, etc. GWC has connections with various hospitals in the city that provide medical assistance to the clinic's patients at a reasonable cost. On the 4th of Shaban in celebration of Hazrath Abbas (AS)'s wiladath, all their services are for free.
The clinic had previously expanded in December 2005 and July 2006 to include the Get Well Diagnostic Center. In 2007 a new Physiotherapy department was inaugurated for patients, including those with chronic illness such as stroke, congestive heart failure, emphysema, and post-hospital deconditioned states. In 2009, the clinic got an analyzer for the pathology lab. Since then, the clinic was able to help over 7000 patients. Since 2011 the clinic has had an X-Ray machine available that has allowed patients to get imaging tests done very quickly and conveniently.
The clinic also provides a 24 hours Ambulance Service that is a source referral to specialty hospitals. GWC was recently awarded the appreciation honor humanity award by Owaisi Hospital and Research Centre.
Since its establishment, the clinic has set up multiple schemes to help the people of the city. Some of these schemes are
GWC provides free chronic illness medication through the Imam Zain-ul-Abedeen (AS) Medic Aid Scheme for chronic illness medications. Each patient’s medication costs them approximately $150-200 per year. The scheme has benefitted all the students and staff in need of institutions like Darul Yateema (an orphanage with over 300 Students & Staff members) Zehra Boys School, Blind Boys School & Hostel Care, Hauzatul Raza, and employees of Alawa-e-Saqtauq Mubarak, Aza Khana-e-Zehra, Ibadath Khana-e-Hussaini, Alawa-e-Bibi, and Alawa-e-Saqtauq Mubarak with free medical services. Last year the clinic helped 1658 people with free medication worth Rs.1,51,200.
This scheme provides free medications to people with chronic illnesses like diabetes and heart conditions who cannot afford their medications. The clinic selects few deserving people and provides them with a monthly supply of their medications. The scheme has 37 patients so far that costs them about $8000 every year.
IMI Get Well Clinic has worked tirelessly to provide humanitarian assistance in the city for the past 18 years.
On October 13th, 2020, Hyderabad experienced record-breaking torrential rain. It created a series of flash floods leaving 40,000 families displaced without a home to go back to. In response to the disaster, IMI Get Well Clinic Hyderabad helped over 100 affected families with emergency kits worth Rs.14,000 including, food supplies, medicines, kitchen pots and utensils, mattresses and pillows, toiletries, and electrical appliances like heater, iron, etc. helping those families get a jump start towards recovery.
Every Muharram and Ramadan, the clinic distributes food to hundreds of poor and needy families. Last year in 2020, the clinic provided 300 families with a month's worth of food supply worth $15,000 for the holy month of Ramadan. The Ration includes everyday use ingredients like 25 kg rice, oil, 2 kg dal, ginger, garlic, 20 kg wheat flour, etc., and ingredients like dates and vermicelli, especially for Ramadan.
The clinic offers help and professional guidance to nursing students through training/internship programs.
The clinic organizes monthly free health camps, including vision, dental, orthopedic, TB, diabetes, and hepatitis camps. Health camps have played an integral role in serving the lower socio-economic groups of Hyderabad. IMI Get Well Clinic Hyderabad organizes dozens of camps every year to reach a larger population. They help thousands of needy families access state-of-the-art healthcare facilities with world-renowned doctors at their service. All of this is provided at very little to no cost. With these camps, the clinic aims to spread key awareness points about proper health and various ways to combat the said diseases to every household in Hyderabad.
On average, 3600 patients are screened every year. Patients with complicated and advanced stages of cataracts such as hyper and mature cataracts are regularly seen at these eye camps. Patients who need surgeries are provided with transportation to and from the hospital. They are given free meals and three days supply of medication for free along with a medical kit to help them recover.
IMI Get Well clinic Hyderabad regularly organizes multi-specialty mega health camps that include a pulmonologist, orthopedist, ENT. cardiologist, general physician, etc Anyone requiring additional tests or checkups can get it done in the clinic at very little to no cost. They offer free medicine and treatment to anyone who cannot afford the minimum fees.
Every Muharram, the clinic arranges multiple emergency services and first aid camps, including on Arbaeen and Ashura. This past Muharram, due to the pandemic, all local hospitals had stopped taking emergency cases without the COVID-19 test report. In response to this situation, Get Well Clinic made an all-day special arrangement with all the safety precautions on the day of Ashura and provided emergency services for the matamdar with a team of eight doctors and supporting staff. On Arbaeen, our expert team of doctors and medical staff were able to aid 38 matamdari from the Arbaeen procession.
The clinic runs a blood drive every year on the 3rd of Shaban in celebration of the Wiladat of Imam e Aali Makham Imam Hussain(AS) and Wiladath e Babul Hawaej (AS). Azadars from all walks of life come to donate for a good cause.
