The Al Zahra Medical Complex (named after Shehzadi Fatima-uz-Zahra); a project of IMI in collaboration with Aziz Imdad Memorial Trust is a 30,000 Sq ft covered area; located in Syed Kasran, just outside Chakwal, Punjab. The initiative of the medical complex was to serve the udeserved people of rural Punjab. The construction of phase 1 commenced in 2021, marking a significant step towards enhancing healthcare access in rural Punjab. Even during the construction phase, telemedicine services were being conducted to cater to the underserved populations of Chakwal, providing them with crucial medical support and resources that they previously lacked. With your generous donations, the first phase of Al-Zahra Hospital is completed with two consultation rooms, one ward and a pharmacy. The clinic is now operating with an average of 50-60 patients daily. During eye camps an average of 300 patients are seen; and from it only 40-50 patients are sent out for surgery.
The future phases shall include a mid-sized hospital with an Ophthalmology Center, dedicated to Mr. Zamir Kazmi, and an Urgent Care Center named "Barkat Urgent Care" in honor of past IMI Global President, late Dr. Barkat Jaferi, surgery center, dental, laboratory and radiology services as well as a pharmacy. Former IMI Global President & Community Stalwart, Dr. Jaferi was a selfless soul, a role model, mentor, and an excellent physician whose tremendous services for the New Jersey community and the Global Medical Community shall be remembered for long through this Urgent Care Center.
