May Allah grant His choicest blessings to the departed soul through the waseela of the Ahululbayt (AS) and grant patience to the family of Dr. Madad

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Dr. Syed Sikandar Madad, s/o Syed Yawar Madad, on Sunday, July 19th, at the age of 77.

Dr. Sikandar Madad completed his F.Sc at the University of Punjab in 1961 and earned his medical degree from Nishtar Medical College in 1970 and was a practicing Urologist in NY until his retirement a few years back.

Dr. Sikandar Madad was a dedicated member of the community and strove to ensure others could succeed through his involvement in Anjuman-e-Wazifa Sadaat-o-Momineen and Imamia Medics International. Dr Madad was a key supporter and donor of IMI and its causes. He had served in IMI's highest forum, the Global Board of Regents for two consecutive terms. He also served as the President of Anjuman-e-Wazifa-e-Sadaat-o-Momineen for two terms.

It is with heavy hearts that we say goodbye to an incredible force within our IMI family, Dr Sikandar Madad. A key Stalwart and community leader, Dr Madad was a selfless leader, and a role model to all those who had the honor of working with him. His tremendous services for IMI shall be remembered for a long time to come.

Dr Madad was an integral part of IMI's first delegation to Iraq in 2009. He had been part of IMI's first conference in India, which was our 2nd International Conference, the Millenium Conference in 2000.

Dr Madad had also travelled with IMI to our Iran Conference. As such a core part of the organization and the IMI family, his loss will be felt by us all. His contributions to IMI were too many to measure and his dedication to our cause will be remembered with fondness.

Dr. Madad is survived by his wife of 46 years, Dr. Saiyeda Madad; a son, Ali Madad; daughters Dr. Shirin Kao and Asma Madad; five grandchildren and innumerable other family and friends. On behalf of the Global President, the Global Board of Regents, the US Board of Directors and all of IMI's global membership IMI Headquarters extends sincerest condolences to Dr Sikandar's wife, children, extended family and loved ones.

May Allah (SWT) shower His blessings upon him and give patience to his family and friends; May Allah bless him with the highest station in Jannah in the Jawar of Ahlulbayt (AS) and patience to all who have felt this heavy loss.

In light of the ongoing pandemic, Namaz-e-Janaza was performed by immediate family only; the burial was held at Washington Memorial Park, NY in the morning of Monday, July 20th.
