IMI's 11th Annual Arbaeen Medical Mission

12:00:AM

This delegation's primary purpose is to provide medical services during Arbaeen. The situation in Iraq is constantly shifting and volatile. You must be flexible with regards to planning and logistics including accommodations, transportation, electricity and other local needs/arrangements. Things constantly change on the ground and our baseline requirement is for all delegates to be patient, flexible and work together despite very intense and challenging conditions. Also please note, while our priority is to serve the health needs of the people in Iraq, should the situation in Iraq deteriorate, plans for Abraeen will be modified based on local risk assessments and security concerns.

Join Us for the 11th Annual Arbaeen Medical Mission:

After ten years of providing free healthcare and medicines during Arbaeen with expanding services at medical camps near the Shrines of Imam Hussain (A.S), Hazrat Abbas (A.S) and Imam Ali (A.S), IMI is pleased to announce we will be adding to these once again:

IMI's 11th Annual Arbaeen Medical Mission will include increased Emergency Services, as well as an International Health Conference with training programs and workshops during this time.

The international health conference would include medical education, skills workshop and trainings in range of medical topics, and help take our existing work of training and mentoring students through the medical camps even further.

Of course, our plans for this year also continue to include medical services in Karbala through 2 medical camps near the Haram of Imam Hussain (A.S.) and the Haram of Hazrat Abbas (A.S.), and one medical camp in Najaf as well where IMI will once again run a 4-day medical camp at the Haram of Imam Ali (A.S.) during the Shahadat of Prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H) and Imam Hassan (A.S.). At each of these locations, teams will operate in groups by shifts. Each camp will also have separate care areas for men and women. Applications are welcome from all health professionals as well as non-health professionals (for selected administrative roles).

DATES:

  • October 9 - 23 (Karbala Camp only)
  • October 9 - 30 (Karbala & Najaf Camps)
  • October 22 - 30 (Najaf Camp only)

(Pending ongoing assessment of crisis, security & logistics.)

Applications are now open to join IMI as delegates to serve at our camps and/or as international faculty for the IMI Arbaeen Health Conference. Apply here.

Testimonials
  • It was an excellent conference well planned, presented, and well attended.  If individually traveling we may have never enjoyed the kind of reception the participants received throughout their stay in Iran.

  • I want to thank you all for giving me such a great opportunity to be a part of your team (in Haiti). It was a unique experience and I really enjoyed working with you all.

    Mitra Arjang
  • Thank you very much for the wonderful work you do. I have seen it first hand in Karbala during the Arbaeen camps and my son was fortunate to participate in two of the missions. I have made a donation today.

    Abbas Abidi
  • If InshAllah, I secure a residency in the upcoming match, I will owe the organizers and the speakers at the seminar more than they will take credit for.

    Annie Agha
  • IMI has been my outlet for philanthropic work since before I entered into high school. It is through IMI that I see my efforts, here in New Jersey, manifest into something much greater around the world. IMI has helped me realize that ambition alone is not enough to change the world; in order to achieve the changes we wish to see in this world we require ambition, vision, and most importantly execution. That is why I have joined IMI, so that my ambition and vision can meet their execution.
