IMI Get Well Clinic Aligarh is launched

IMI established the Get Well Charitable Clinic in Aligarh, India, in March 2002. The clinic is located in Zohra Bagh, an economically challenged neighborhood of Aligarh, to facilitate access to quality healthcare for disadvantaged community at little or no cost. The Clinic added an adjoining Dental Unit in 2005 and runs additional healthcare camps and programs periodically, including diabetes camps.

About 11,000 patients have been seen each yearfor the last 4 years at the clinic. In 2013, IMI Aligarh also launched the Imamia Mobile Clinic, a weekly mobile clinic that caters to smaller localities in the Aligarh region to expand its area of service. Approximately 20 villagesare covered in and near Aligarh through this critical health delivery service and about 150-200 patients receive care each month in remote regionsthat often have no other options available.

The Get Well Charitable Clinic Aligarh has organized multiple health camps over the last several from free heart checkup camps to surgical camps to eye care camps. There have also been multiple Hussaini Blood Donation Camps organized regularly over the last several years, with a special Hussaini Ambulance service during Moharram juloos as well.

As part of the public health awareness campaign the Clinic also published and distributed publications on family planning, breast-feeding and preventing Dengue. To combat the spread of HIV/AIDS and generate public awareness, the Clinic also organizes free HIV/AIDS checkup and counseling camps.
